Rendezvous in Rhythm

Hot Club of Cowtown s new release RENDEZVOUS IN RHYTHM is an exuberant collection of newly-arranged Gypsy music and American Songbook standards played acoustically and recorded in the hot jazz style of legendary violin and guitar masters Stephane Grappelli and Django Reinhardt. Produced by Lloyd Maines, RENDEZVOUS IN RHYTHM is the Hot Club of Cowtown s first-ever project dedicated exclusively to the Gypsy jazz and French swing of Paris in the 1930 s and features the band s fresh spins on standards made famous by Reinhardt and Grappelli.
In order to capture lightning in a bottle, the trio recorded it live, "Right there next to each other so we could hear each other play. We tried to capture the feel of our live shows as much as possible."
With a cult following worldwide, the Hot Club of Cowtown has been touring globally for more than a decade. Tours with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Roxy Music, the Mavericks and as international musical ambassadors for the US State Department have created a uniquely American power trio at the very top of its game. Other notable appearances have included repeat performances on A Prairie Home Companion, Weekend Edition, All Things Considered, Mountain Stage, The Grand Ol Opry, and Later with Jools Holland, on radio and television. Festival highlights have included Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Stagecoach, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Strawberry Festival, Glastonbury, the Cambridge Folk Festival, Fuji Rock, and Byron Bay Blues and Roots.
