Patterns - Park Bench #21. Niagra Falls
This suit with two skirts is designed with a lot of nostalgia in mind. Maybe I've been watching too many wonderful old movies, but times past make me think of when women combined strength with softness. When curves were appreciated. When our figures were described as "shapely"...and it was considered a compliment. The jacket starts with a stand-up or funnel collar that frames the neck as it curves into an overlapping front closure. The jacket body features unfitted princess seams with side panels that are cut on the bias with a slight flair in the side seams. The hemline of the jacket is slightly longer in the back. You'll notice I've added a graceful curving line to the sleeve seam. All these unique features are designed to introduce movement, comfort and flattering lines to a very feminine suit jacket.
