Biology: Understanding the Structure and Function of Proteins, Lipids and Carbohydrates
As a tutor of Biology of about 20 years experience I quite often came across students who were struggling with the basics. Most often the subject of the basic biological molecules; proteins, carbohydrates and lipids, was causing them some confusion. Admittedly, for biology students who don't study chemistry, this subject can be a challenge.
So what I have done in this book is give a summary of the most important points about these molecule groups in the easily understandable format, of a series of questions and answers. I have also included a chapter of key words, that I explain, before the main questions; I think it makes sense for you to know the scientific terms before you read about how it all fits together. The final chapter consists of exam questions and answers, to help you with that inevitable test that is coming up soon.
I hope you enjoy this book and that it helps you further understand biochemistry as a whole - what a great subject!
