ntique Chinese Ming Treasure Trunk (2801), Circa 1800-1849

This Antique Chinese Treasure Trunk is handmade in elegant Ming style with simple and straight lines. The trunk was originally made for storage of Gold or silver bars and coins for wealthy family before paper money used in ancient China. The trunk is four-sided and in excellent condition from all sides. A lid panel on top of the trunk is used for opening. The original copper lock hardware is on the lid. The trunk is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Can be used as a coffee table, end table, storage trunk etc. Original patina and Hardware. Made from Elm wood with beautiful wood grain, the trunk is very solid. Circa early of 19th century.
