Steps to get the transmitter to function:
1: Insert the car charger into the car's cigarette lighter
2: Find an unoccupied/unused station
3: Keep the transmitter and car FM radio at the same frequency
4: Use the 3.5mm audio cable to connect your device(Connect the date line with your device to have it charged at the same time)

Tips to reduce static on my FM transmitter?
First, make sure the station you use is empty. You can find empty stations manually or find them from websites(Radio-Locator.com & SiriusXM.com). Simply type in your zip code or location, and these sites show you which stations are the best to use for your transmitter.
Next, properly adjust the volume. The volume at around 3/4 seems to work best with FM transmitters.
