Winter Hardy Basjoo Banana Plant Musa 4 POT
Chusquea gigantea is an enormous temperate clumping bamboo, often reaching heights of over 40 feet here in the U.S. It is extremely upright with only a slight weep at the tips of the canes. New shoots emerge light green, turning hues of burgundy and purple with sun exposure. Shooting is prolific with new shoots beginning in mid-March and continuing through May and June. Although technically a clumping bamboo, Chusquea gigantea has very elongated rhizome necks and individual canes can be spaced up to 12 inches apart. An outstanding specimen bamboo.
