What you always wanted to know about being a ClassicBikeNut, but never knew who to ask.
Have you ever wondered what it was that attracted anyone to the Veteran/Vintage/Classic bike scene? What the bikes are really like and why those who have them are nuts about them? This book de-mystifies everything around the whole setup, but please be aware that it cannot give you immunity from it! From anecdotal stories to technical detail, this book explains in simple, practical terms, what makes the bikes and the people 'tick', will explain the diversity and sheer bandwidth of motorcycles available, what they are and, in some cases, why they are so. A fascinating insight into old machinery and the joys of two-wheeled, motorised transport in an age when you could do your own maintenance and repair, if necessary at the 'side of the road'. It will open your eyes to the fascination of machinery that you can actually see and hear working, that you could diagnose and probably mend yourself, at a pinch! This is NOT a maintenance manual, it's more a sort of autobiographical reference work. My intention is to simplify and explain the choices available and the influences which made the (mostly) British Motorcycles built up to about 1972 so different from those today...without needing an engineering degree!
