Wetfly Parachute Adams Fly, 1 Dozen Fly Fishing Flies

The Adams fishing fly is perhaps the most iconic fly to be created. Originally tied by Leonard Halladay in Northern Michigan, this fly is presumed to be named after his good friends Charles and Lon Adams in the early 1900s. To this day, the construction of the Adams fly leads the development of nearly every mayfly dryfly pattern. The Parachute Adams, takes the pattern a step further by laying the hackle horizontally to mimic a spent mayfly. Additionally, the post of the parachute offers great visibility and additional floatation. Every fly box either does or should contain the Parachute Adams in a variety of sizes to imitate mayflies as well as midges (in smaller sizes). Fish this fly on a dead drift above columns of feeding trout or drop on stillwater fisheries with gentle twitches to produce a strike.
