This shirt from the WarbirdShirtsTM collection features the Curtiss P-40 Warhawk. The P-40 was used by almost all of the Allied powers in WWII. It is most famous for its use by the 1st American Volunteer Group AVG better known as the Flying Tigers. American volunteer poilots flying for the Chinese Air Force before the US entered the war, the Flying Tigers destoryed 297 enemy aircraft with their P-40s. The P-40 in this illustration was flown by American fighter ace Robert T. Smith of the Hell's Angels 3rd Pursuit Squadron of the Flying Tigers.
