WASHINGTON DC 2006 WORLD PHILATELIC EXHIBITION #4075 Souvenir Sheet of 3 US Postage Stamps
On May 29, 2006 in Washington DC; at the 2006 World Philatelic Exhibition issued this 3-stamp souvenir sheet. To commemorate Washington 2006 and help defray its sponsorship costs, the USPS issued a pane of three engraved stamps, using the original dies for the $1, $2, and $5 values of the 1922-1929 definitive series and printing them in the original colors. Appropriately, the stamps depict Washington landmarks: the Lincoln Memorial, the US Capitol and the head of the Statue of Freedom atop the Capitol dome.
