Vacuum Sealer+5 Free Vac Bags
Comes wit 5 free Vac Bags. This advanced, 2nd-generation ThriftyVac Vacuum Sealer is even better than the ground-breaking first-generation ThriftyVac system, because It comes with the rugged "QuickVac" Outer Bag that vacuum packs your food bag quicker and more effectively than the original outer bag. The ThriftyVac Vacuum Sealer works by creating a vacuum around your food bag, then closing the seal on your food bag while it's still inside the QuickVac Outer Bag. This process lets you vacuum pack resealable food bags that don't have vacuum ports in their sides. This is important because vacuum ports can leak when placed in refrigerators and freezers. If your food bag cannot hold a vacuum by itself, then you can place it inside one of the free reusable, resealable TV2 Vacuum Bags that come with the ThriftyVac Vacuum Sealer, and then vacuum pack both bags together. The ThriftyVac Vacuum Sealer works without using batteries or electricity. It consists of a plastic Housing, a regular-size 12x15 inch QuickVac Outer Bag (which serves as a flexible vacuum chamber), Check Valve, and a hand-operated Vacuum Pump. This patented, compact system measures just 6 x 2.5 x 2 inches and easily fits in any kitchen drawer. The steps in the vacuum-packing operation are listed below: 1. Place your food inside your resealable plastic bag. 2. Close all but 1/2 inch of your food bag's sealing strip. 3. Place your food bag inside the ThriftyVac QuickVac Outer Bag, with the open ½-inch segment resting on the Housing's curved Sealing Ramp. 4. Tuck 3 inches of the open end of the QuickVac Outer Bag underneath itself; pump out the air; and use your thumb to press the OPEN 1/2 INCH SEGMENT of your food bag closed. 5. Open the QuickVac Outer Bag and withdraw your vacuum-packed food. 6. PRESS YOUR THUMB ALONG THE ENTIRE FOOD BAG SEAL TO ENSURE IT IS TIGHTLY CLOSED. ThriftyVac works best with TV2 Vac Bags, because ziploc-type bag only hold a vacuum if labeled "Vacuum Bag."
