By combining Infrared (IR) and microwave (MW) technologies the sensors is able to distinguish between true and false human motion, providing immunity against disturbances which would inevitably cause false alarms. The human body creates changes in its surrounding environment as it travels through this space. Heat is the most common change conventional motion sensors will detect. As a body travels across a motion detectors field of view, infrared (IR) radiation, or heat, is emitted allowing the sensor to detect this new presence.
