Type IV Zero-G Utility Vehicle (Work Bee): General Schematics
The Type IV Zero-G Utility Vehicle, or "Work Bee," is a small, micro-fusion-powered zero-G craft which entered service with Starfleet in 2268. The basic pressure shell design has changed very little from the original Type III Cargo Maintenance Unit, though internal systems are periodically updated. The craft is capable of stand-alone operations dealing with inspection of spaceborne hardware, repairs, assembly, and other activities requiring remote manipulators. The Work Bee accommodates a single crew member, providing a shirt-sleeve environment from which to work. In certain applications, a full space suit can be worn to allow the operator to be able to exit the craft, perform any work not possible with the manipulator system, and return for repressurization. The cockpit module measures 3.35 meters in length, 1.63 meters in height, 1.5 meters abeam, and has a mass of 1.68 metric tons. About these schematics: This high-quality packet consists of five 11"x17" fold-out sheets depicting 6 external views of the craft, as well as a detailed internal layout and external attachments.
