Tupelo Carving Wood - 4" X 6" X 18"
This quality of Tupelo (Nyssa aquatica) is not easy to find. Our supplier provides prime Tupelo harvested from the swamps of Eastern United States in which blocks are selectively cut from the bell (stump) of the tree and air-dried in a greenhouse. Many power carvers, particularly bird and fish carvers, regard Tupelo as the best of the carving woods for that type of work. It is light in color, light weight, easy to carve yet holds detail very well. It also accepts detail burning very well. Block size is 4"X6"X18". (We also carry various other sizes if needed.)
