This is an amplified stethoscope, which can also be used as a regular acoustic stethoscope. Uses 2 AAA batteries. Differing pressure on the bell allows 'tuning' to different sounds - low or high pitch. 3 buttons on the controller, very simple to operate, as well as 4 lights on the bell so you're sure it's doing what you want it to do.
