Think Outside the Blah - A Ten Step Guide
First of all, I am not an academic. I didn€t do a ten year study that included interviewing 2000 leaders and then apply advanced statistical analysis to reach my conclusions. Don€t get me wrong I love the guys who do this research. I€ve read their studies and their books to gain insight into effective leadership; but that€s not me.
This is the result of my 40 year experience as a volunteer, a leader of volunteers, a business owner, a CPA, a board member, and a continual student of leadership. I have observed that too many times leaders in organizations are drawn into a trap of following traditions, procedures, organizational charts, etc. and in doing so their thinking becomes focused on satisfying the status quo and many times they fail to use imaginative thinking.
This book defines this trap as €œThe Blah€ and presents in a humorous way (hopefully) how to recognize it, resist it, rise above it, and finally Think Outside the Blah and become a more imaginative leader and build a more imaginative culture in your organization.
