The-Valkyr-Ascension

A shield maiden named Hilde returns from the yearly raids, an average shield maiden and warrior. She and the raiding party find their village has been burned and all the villagers and warriors killed. Upon arriving, their earl is slain by a group of foreigners. With his dying words, he tells his remaining people that a Valkyrie is amongst them, and that she will lead them to glorious victory. The assumption is made by the men that Hilde, one of only two shield maidens in the party, is the Valkyrie. The men swear to follow her to whatever end they may find.
The group travels on and they seek the aide of other clans as they follow the path of the invaders. As Hilde and her men travel on to the north to seek vengeance for the villagers of Trelsin, she sends word to the clans in the south.

Hilde and her men encounter many trials in their travels, and many loose hope when Hilde's closest friend, Friega is severely wounded in battle. With the aide of their neighboring clansmen, Hilde continues her quest and aide is sent from the clan heads in the south.
A great battle ensues in the north, and the Valkerie is revealed as the invaders are annihilated from their lands, but Hilde does not intend for her quest to end at their borders.
