The Succubus Wore Green: Book Two: Emerald City
Benzi and her succubus Mistress, Atalya, have settled in Seattle, hoping to turn their luxurious apartment building into an upscale brothel and a recruiting ground for potential demons. But as they discover their first new allies, Atalya's unique condition suddenly locks her into an intense cycle of mindless pleasure. With her Mistress sidelined, Benzi is forced to push forward on their mission in completely uncharted waters. Inexperienced and still struggling with her dark past life, Benzi finds herself in places she never wanted to be...or never could have imagined.
EXCERPT:
Iris had been a great beauty.
Her condition and time had worked hard to erase the evidence, but it was unmistakable even as she lay unconscious with medical equipment, tubes, and wires looming around her. She was gaunt and pale, her eyelids dark. Surprisingly, her lips had some fullness to them, but were virtually drained of color. They were parted slightly as she dozed.
Malcolm stood at the foot of her bed, gazing down at her as sunlight streamed in from a large window to their left. “She deserved so much more than this. But she never saw it that way. She stayed positive even as her mind started to go. She still smiles.â€
Atalya stood next to him, her head tilted slightly, a faint smirk curling her lip. “You’re right. She does deserve more. And she is absolutely a demon. Her mind is delightful.â€
Malcolm’s eyes welled with hope. “You can read her thoughts? She can be saved?â€
“My dear, your wife will be restored to her absolute prime…and then some. Mmm, I am nearly dripping just contemplating the possibilities.†She paused, then looked at him. “Ah, sorry.â€
To his credit, Malcolm chuckled softly. “No, no, I’m sure she’d appreciate that. What do we need to do? Can I help at all?â€
Atalya set her iPad down on a nearby dresser and appeared deep in thought for a few moments. “I’m going to consult with my associates here in the hallway, and then I will absolutely need your help.â€
Malcolm nodded silently and turned back to his wife as we stepped out into the hall. Atalya remained silent for awhile, then looked up at Darda’il. “First, I have to ask: is he ready?â€
“I believe he is. You heard him, he only wants her to be happy.â€
“No, I mean…is he ready?â€
“Oh. Oh,†Darda’il said softly before he himself became lost in thought. “Yes. I believe he could ascend easily. The light is strong in him.â€
Atalya nodded. “Good. Because I’ll need to kill him.â€
