The Purple Passport to London
The Purple Passport to London is the first in a newly launched series of eBook city guides by The Purple Passport. Essential reading for hip, discerning travelers and on-the-go locals, the guide provides insider tips on over 150 handpicked London venues, covering hotels, nightlife, restaurants, shopping, sights, and spas.
The carefully curated selection of venues runs the gamut from historic hotels dripping in chandeliers to artfully down-at-the-heel gastropubs; from fashion-forward department stores where A-listers desirously prowl the designer collections to bohemian markets where plucky fashion students hawk their latest creations; from Zen spas hidden in unmarked townhouses to the private homes of eccentric Londoners turned intriguing museums; and from regal gardens where queens take tea to exclusive lounges where partying princes strut their stuff on the dance floor. Organized by neighborhood for easy navigation, The Purple Passport to London also includes helpful maps and city-orienting info about transportation, customs, and seasonal highlights.
The Purple Passport to London will soon be joined by eBook travel guides for Paris and other cities found on The Purple Passport’s website. Users of the website can also take advantage of the site's unique functionality features, including mapping and trip planning tools. Founders Jennifer Garcia-Alonso and Emily C. Brands launched The Purple Passport in 2010 with online guides to London, Beijing, and Los Angeles, and Palm Beach and Paris guides followed in 2011; guides to New York and Washington, DC are forthcoming.
The Purple Passport team personally visits every spot that it reviews and never accepts compensation for featuring a venue on the site or in its eBooks. First-person accounts of the team's travel experiences can be found on the companion blog, The Diary of The Purple Passport.
