The Progressive Art of Bodysurfing: A Style Manual
This is the first book that presents bodysurfing as a developmental progression of wave knowledge, physical skills, and riding maneuvers. It is organized in a practical, functional, and creative style. Each chapter begins with a creative nonfiction essay, followed by an original pen/ink drawing thats help capture the stories depth-of-emotion. At the heart of each chapter; detailed information, techniques, maneuvers, and safety tips are presented through simple, accurate, and humorous terms that are further supported by digital photos and illustrations. Chapter headings include; Reading, Entering, Catching, Riding, and Exiting the surf. Finally, the reader will find it very helpful that all bold-faced terms are included in a Glossary as an Appendix. It is not a big wave riding treatise, but more functionally it targets the majority of folks that want to, or are riding small to medium sized waves. This is not a Wedge or Pipeline book. Instead, it is derived from my bodysurfing experiences, mostly from Poverty Beach in Cape May, New Jersey.
