The author, Pfr. i.R. Dr. theol. Hermann Detering, was born in 1953. He is proponent of the Radical Criticism and creator of Radikalkritik, a web journal devoted to critiquing the New Testament and investigating various scholarly proposals for the origins and dating of the texts. Detering is member of the Committee for the Scientific Examination of Religion.
