The Early Poetry and Criticisms of Robert Frost

All of Robert Frost's verse published from 1909 to 1920. Includes A Boy's Will, North of Boston, Mountain Interval, and several other poems, with an active table of contents, correct spacing/breaks, and automatic (poetic) indentation for any size frame or font.

Appended to this edition are two critical reviews by Ezra Pound and Edward Garnett that, respectively, offer an interesting contrast of analysis between the Imagist and Realist concepts of 20th century American poetry. With characteristic brevity and compact language, Pound states Frost's work is "without sham and without affectation," seemingly dismissing this "homely [and] pleasing" poet as some passing provincial fancy, were it not for the occassional surfacing of "a beautiful simile." Garnett, far more generous with his praise, offers extensive excerpts and insights that highlight "[Frost's] creative vision, springing from New England soil, and calmly handing on the best and oldest American tradition...at variance with the cosmopolitan clamour of New York."
