The Collar
In light of the gift Lewis has giving her, Allie must come to grips with the Collar. What does it really mean, and does she accept it? Lewis waits patiently while she makes the decision; does she accept his Collar and all that it means.

“I don’t get it.†Adam is beginning to get a little looser in the tongue given the amount of wine he’d had both before and during the meal. Perhaps I shouldn’t have shared with Danielle the nature of the relationship I had with Lewis, but I am not ashamed of it. She’s my best friend, and this is a very new experience for me. But of course, she shared the situation with her husband who was bit more conventional in his way of thinking than Danielle. “Why do you need to dominant a woman you claim to love? I mean, does she have to crawl on her knees or something to appease you since of manhood?â€
Okay, it was starting to get incredibly uncomfortable. I try to interject, but Lewis, as ever, is not slow in reply.
“ Adam you’ve been watching too much bad internet porn, but if I told Allie to crawl on her hands and knees rest assured she would do it and be happy to do it for me. Because you and Danielle are Allie’s friends I will excuse your rudeness, Adam I am a dominate, my manhood BELONGS to Allie. Beyond that it really is none of your fucking business.â€
A tad confrontational maybe, but funny. It thrills me down to my toes. Adam was a little put out, but Danielle and I manage to smooth it over. It is plain the two men will never be the best of friends, but that’s fine. Adam can be a tad judgmental at times. Despite the little dust up, dinner goes surprisingly well, excepting the sporadic looks we are getting from time to time.
Generally whenever we go out, Lewis and I garner the occasional odd look from people shocked to see a black woman with a white man or vice versa even in this day and age. Tonight was a little different though. It wasn’t us, the couple people were gawking at. Every person that actually noticed it, which was more than I would’ve thought, focuses on the tiny padlock at the back of my neck, then their gaze goes down to where Lewis’ hand rests on the small of my back. While there aren’t a lot of flashes of recognition, there are a few.
“How does it make you feel to have people staring at my collar around your neck, Allie?†Lewis asks as we leisurely stroll past a table of six, three of which are staring pointedly at my neck.
I have to really think about it before I answer. Really I am feeling a multitude of things. I don’t know how to chisel it down into words that were accurate enough to describe all the things flowing through me at the moment.
