The Art of Self Leadership: The Pedagogy, Practices and Consequences of Self Awareness Training

This book explores the practice of self awareness training for school leaders and teachers who aspire to leadership. It addresses the theory, pedagogy and practical consequences of training in self-awareness. Dr. C. Edward Richards is the Founding Director of the Summer Principals Academy (SPA) established in New York at Columbia University in 2005. Dr. Richards is currently leading the founding of a Southern SPA program in New Orleans. As a long-time practitioner of meditation, he has developed a unique curriculum of self-awareness training for emerging leaders in education systems and has published with Oxford University Press and the Teachers College Record about these practices.
