Tefen Nylon 66 Hose Fitting, Adapter, Gray, 5/16" Hose ID x 1/2" NPT Male (Pack of 10)
This Tefen industrial straight hose adapter is made of gray nylon 6/6 and has a barbed connection on one end and a male NPT threaded connection on the other to connect a tube or a hose to a female NPT threaded connection in a straight run. The barbed connection creates a tight seal on a tube or hose when secured with a Tefen snap clip (not included), and the male National Pipe Taper (NPT) threaded end connects with a female NPT threaded connection, creating a tighter seal than straight threads. This fitting has an integral hex nut for tightening the fitting by using a wrench. This adapter (also called a connector) is made of nylon 6/6 for lightweight, strength, and resistance to corrosion from most chemicals and solvents. The maximum operating pressure for this fitting is 200 pounds per square inch (psi) (14 bar) at 68 degrees F (20 degrees C) in a temperature range of -5 to +230 degrees F (-20 to +110 degrees C), subject to application. It meets NSF International/American National Standards Institute (ANSI) standard 61 for drinking water system components – health effects. This hose adapter is suitable for connecting plastic, rubber, or soft PVC (polyvinyl chloride) hoses in industrial and domestic applications.
Hose fittings connect, control, change the direction of, and terminate the flow in piping and hose systems. They are made of brass, stainless steel, galvanized steel, and other materials that resist corrosion, pressure, and wear. Hose fittings have various types of connections, including threaded, barbed, push-to-connect, dry disconnect, and others including those based on internationally-accepted specifications. Hose fittings are used in systems such as air compressors, automatic manufacturing operations, aircraft controls, and tire installation in industries including agriculture, mining, road construction, firefighting, and aviation.
Tefen Advanced Plastic Solutions manufactures plastic fittings for pneumatic, automation, and irrigation applications. The company, founded in 1970, meets International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 9001:2000.
