Tathagata

Tathagata is Buddhist instrumental and vocal music with a deliberately ambiguous name that can mean both 'one who has thus gone,' as well as 'one who has thus come.' In addition, some assert that the term can mean 'one who has found the Truth.' The traveler who has thus come, gone, and found the Truth leaves no place un-visited; and because one who has thus come is always present, one need not turn to go anywhere. Nominated for the 2010 52nd Grammy Awards in best packaging category, the album cover of Tathagata is adorned with an eye-catching bodhi leaf, which is a hand illustration by the husband and wife design duo, Szu-wei Cheng and Hui-chen Huang. The process took an entire week of drawing out each intricate detail on the pattern of the leaf. The inside of the CD package features an accordion style booklet with liner notes in Mandarin and English.
