The smaller 13 diameter with the deep 6-1/2 depth creates a snare drum that can play in higher tuning ranges without losing its depth of tone and fatness , especially in this 1.2mm steel shell. The nickel-plated steel shell drum is the beaded design with a round bead around its center, a design element found in several classic snare drums but sold at much higher prices than this excellent snare drum.
