TROPICA - Tree wisteria (Bolusanthus speciosus) - 15 Seeds
Worth knowing: The little deciduous tree with its upright, delicate habit is one of the most beautiful and eye-catching flowering trees of South Africa. It is extremely long-lasting. As a bonsai, the tree wisteria is also known for its wonderful wisteria-like flowers. The dark purple flowers appear in spring. Glossy green leaves will grow not until later.
Origin: Indigenous to subTropical South Africa.
Propagation: Seeds can be started indoors throughout the year. Leave the seeds to soak in water at room temperature for about 24 hours. Press the seeds about 1 cm deep into moist cultivation soil. Leave a distance of about 5 cm between the seeds. Placed in a warm position, germination will start within 1-5 weeks.
Place / Light: The tree wisteria grows best in full sun. It is only as a young plant that it requires a half-shaded position.
Care: The little tree should be watered evenly. Occasional spraying of leaves is advantageous. The warmer the location, the better the plant will thrive. Supply with liquid bonsai fertilizer every 4 weeks from March until November.
Winter period: Start pruning after the flowering period. Do let 4-5 leaf pairs grow and cut them back until there are 2-3 pairs left. Since younger plants do not develop flowers yet, they can of course be pruned continuously.
