TPO Parts Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons 12-pack
TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons have two great benefits for your motorcycle: First, they convert your rigid brakes to a full-floating setup, just like those on a professional race machine. "Full Floating" means that the outer rim of the rotor (the braking surface) is allowed to move slightly with respect to the solid center of the brake disc. A floating rotor will find it's own optimal path through the brake caliper. This means reduced brake drag (friction) which lets you put more horsepower to the ground instead of wasting it. They also help control disc warping under hard braking by allowing the braking surface to expand and contract naturally. Second, they reduce the weight of your brake rotors. This reduces unsprung, rotating, mass. This has a similar benefit to lightweight wheels: better acceleration and faster turn-in. A typical install will save well over one pound of rotating weight on your front wheel! Is there a downside? All true full-floating brakes make a slight rattling noise sometimes. This is true of all full-floating brakes, including all MotoGP, World Superbikes, etc. This sound is not objectionable to most riders. Rather, like the whine of a supercharger or the rattle of the Ducati dry clutch, this is a sign of true performance brakes. TPO Racing Full-Floating Brake Rotor Buttons work with Brembo rotors used on all Ducati and MV Agusta motorcycles from 1991 through present. To determine your order quantity, count the number of rivets on your front brake discs. Typical installations require between 7 and 10 buttons PER DISC, for a total of 14 to 20 pcs for a complete installation. Detailed installation directions with full-color photos are included.
