SuperDroid Robots Dual LS7366R Quadrature Encoder Buffer
This is SuperDroid Robot's TE-183-002 encoder buffer breakout board based on US Digital's LS7366R quadrature counter IC. The LS7366R is designed to interface directly to an encoder output such as the hall-effect encoders on our IG32, IG42, and IG52 gear motors. Equipped with a SPI interface, the LS7366R makes is simple to monitor the position of the motors and total distance traveled. The LS7366R can be configured to work with a quadrature output from an encoder or a single pulse and direction from a single sensor.
Depending on your encoder setup, this breakout board has a series of solder jumpers located next to the encoder input headers. To interface directly to our encoder equipped motors, the solder jumpers must be bridged to enable the required 1k-Ohm pull-up resistors for the motors. If you are interfacing with one of our optical encoders the solder jumpers must be left open.
