Stroopie Stroopwafels, 8.8 oz Delft Tin in a Gift Box
First developed in Gouda sometime in the early 1800s, the stroopwafel (syrup waffle) remains a favorite Dutch treat to this day. The exact origins of this delicious baked item are debatable, but one story credits the baker Gerard Kamphuisen with creating the first stroopwafels by using the leftovers from his bakery sweetened with syrup.
