In 1983 the original Skatalites returned to Jamaica to perform at the 1983 Sunsplash. Personal conflicts were set aside as the legends of Ska stretched out at this joyous 18th anniversary. With no limits on solos or improvisational experiments these rehearsals and performances were captured for history (and dance mad Ska mavens) with all the spontaneity, fire, electricity, and good fellowship of the unique moment. Stretching Out features some of the greatest Ska musicians in the world; Tommy McCook, Roland Alphonso, Lester Sterling, "Dizzy" Johnny Moore, Jackie Mittoo and Lloyd Brevitt.
