Sterling Silver Japanese "Aikido" Kanji Symbol Charm
Hand cast sterling silver silhouette-style charm of the Japanese kanji symbol for "aikido." In Japanese it is pronounced aikido and in Chinese it is her chih tao. The symbols mean: unity (ai), inner strength (ki), and the way (do), so the whole may be translated as the Way of Harmony of the Spirit. Aikido is a Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba (also known as "O Sensei") which focuses on using your opponents' energy against them, and emphasizes motion and harmony. The word "aikido" is engraved on the back, as a translation. The charm portion is 2 1/8" (52mm) long, 3/4" (18mm) across, and 1mm thick.
The charm comes on a 6mm split ring, suitable for wearing on a charm bracelet or necklace chain, and the pendant comes on a fancy 7x5mm bail. The split ring and bail are sterling silver. For both the charm and pendant, the total length is 2 1/3" (60mm).
