Sliced Jamón Ibérico (3 oz)

"Pata Negra" ham comes from the Iberico pig, a breed of semi-wild pigs that lives only in certain parts of the Dehesa in Spain where it feeds on acorns and naturally growing herbs and grasses. The Iberico pig lives exclusively in Spain and the purity of the breed has been maintained throughout its long history. One of the most unique animals in the world, the Iberico pig lives freely in the Dehesa eating acorns, herbs and grasses. Becuase of the large area it ranges through, its fat is marbled perfectly though its meat, giving it an exquisite flavor and properties that make it beneficial to health. Of all hams, the most esteemed is the Iberico ham and the Iberico Ham de Bellota (feed only with woodland acorns) both come from the natural park land of the Dehesa. In this natural environment, each ham is made following artisanal techniques that have been used in Spain for 20 centuries. One by one, the hams are cleaned then dried, without human intervention, in natural drying rooms near the mountains for around two years, during which time the ham acquires all of the aromas of the mountainside. A unique animal, an artisanal process, and an exquisite flavor for kitchens around the world! Uses: A traditional Spaniard will always say that ham stands alone... with a little Manchego cheese, bread and wine. True enough, since its flavor is so exquisite that it barely needs an accompaniment. But Iberico ham is also great as the main ingredient for tapas, or as a guest star in salads. This ham comes pre-sliced in 2 oz plastic envelopes. Just open it and enjoy. The ham should be stored cold and brought to room temperature before serving.
