Sennheiser ME3-VR Headset Microphone for Speech Recognition

The Sennheiser ME3 is widely considered the best headset microphone for use with speech recognition software and is our best selling, least returned, and most praised product. The ME3 is known for both its superb accuracy and its unsurpassed external noise rejection. Unlike the version of the ME3 sold elsewhere on Amazon (the ME3-EW), this version is exclusively manufactured by Sennheiser for Speech Recognition Solutions and is specifically intended for users of speech recognition software. This is the reason for the "ME3-VR" terminology. There are two differences between this product and the ME3 sold elsewhere on Amazon. First, this product is manufactured with a standard 3.5 mm (1/8 inch) audio plug. The ME3 sold elsewhere has an unusual plug with a locking ring designed for attachment to a belt-worn transmitter and often prevents it from engaging properly with a computer or external USB sound card. Second, this product is made with an 8 ft. cord, rather than the 5 ft. cord on the usual ME3, to allow additional flexibility for desktop users. Common to all versions of the ME3 is the lack of speakers and the mounting around the back of a user's head, rather than over the top. The ME3 is compatible with most but not all sound cards and we recommend interfacing it with your Mac or PC with an external sound adapter, such as the Andrea Pure Audio USB adapter or the SpeechWare SpeechMatic MultiAdapter.
