Schoenhut Carved Hair USPS Commemorative Doll and Stamp Set, 1997

Manufactured by Collectible Concepts in 1997, these reproduction Schoenhut dolls were based on originals in the Strong Museum, Rochester, NY. They are highly accurate and feature all the qualities that Schoenhut was known for - wood construction, fully jointed limbs, and outstanding quality made to be handed-down the generations. Please note that the heads are a composite material. Both dolls were modeled after Schoenhut's "Perfection Art Dolls" c. 1911. They wear accurately reproduced clothing, including the "unionsuit" underwear. The boy doll is 17 inches tall. His head is a copy of the Schoenhut #205 carved-hair head. Boy doll weighs 2.06 pounds (including pictured stand). The girl doll is 16 inches tall and features the rare carved "bonnet head". Girl doll weighs 1.86 pounds (included pictured stand).
