The sliding door of the Bel Art Polyethylene Benchtop Fume Hood has two black knobs to raise and lower it. The side tracks have three holds that are provided for the detent pins to hold the door in a position at a selected level. When the detent pins are in the lowest position, a 1/4" wide gap will be left beneath the door. This gap will allow air to enter and sweep the deck. The detent pins should not be removed completely but should always be in one set of holes. The molded polyethylene bench-top fume hood has two stack diameters, 4" (102mm) and 6" (152mm). If the 6" diameter stack is to be used, it is necessary to cut off the 4" diameter extension to avoid restricting the airflow. A small hand saw or sabre saw can be used for this purpose.
