The stamps should be struck with a hammer or mallet to make impressions on flat surfaces.

Set up the stamp on a soft metal at the location you want. It is recommended to anneal to further soften for the best results. Brace it in the middle so you do not accidentally hurt your fingers. Hit the end of the punch with a hammer as even as possible. Only hit it once, as each blow will create a new imprint on your metal.
