Romantic Symphonies

To celebrate the 40th anniversary of Otto Klemperer s death, EMI Classics pays tribute
to the incomparable conductor with the release of an extensive edition of luxurious
yet affordably-priced boxsets. This 10-CD set features all four symphonies and
three Overtures by Schumann, the last three symphonies by Tchaikovsky, Berlioz s
Symphonie fantastique, and Dvorák s From the New World. In addition to symphonies
from Bruckner, Brahms, and Mahler, the collection also includes three by Schubert,
two by Mendelssohn as well as the Hebrides Overture and Midsummer Night s Dream
Incidental music.
