Rob Cosman's Dovetail Marker
Rob Cosman has been woodworking for most of his life. While earning a B.Sc. in Industrial Technology/Furniture Design at Brigham Young University, he was Dr. Dale L. Nish's teaching assistant. Rob has also worked with many of the world's best craftsmen - including Alan Peters, Sam Maloof, Tage Frid, Monroe Robinson and Peter Korn. Rob's dovetail marker allows you to lay out both the angled face and the squared end cuts of dovetails so you save time and reduce the chance for errors. Made from eastern maple, Rob planes the angles on a shooting board to ensure the gauge is highly accurate. One side has a 1:6 ratio for layouts on softwoods, the other side has a 1:7 ratio for hardwoods. The top of the gauge is wide enough to mark 13/16" material.
