The Story Behind the Model
Ford formed the Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) Department in 1981 with a goal to develop high-performance, street-legal cars based on their racing program. They hit a real winner with the SVO Mustang! Built from 1984-1986, SVO versions of the Ford Mustang were powered by a turbo-charged, inline 4-cylinder engine. It produced 175 hp (or 200 hp with a few modifications!), giving this car a real boost. It was the fastest – and also the most expensive – version of the Mustang available at that time.

Your '85 Ford SVO Mustang is a Level 2 kit - it is perfect for intermediate and advanced model builders. Parental supervision is suggested. Always study the assembly drawings included in the packaging before beginning. Each part is identified by a part number.Trimming to remove extra plastic and filing to smooth before part assembly is suggested. For better paint and decal adhesion, wash the plastic parts in a mild detergent solution. Rinse and let air dry. Check the fit of each piece before cementing in place. Allow paint to dry thoroughly before handling parts.
