Red Letter Day And Woodson
Get Up Kids play melodic, pop-inflected emo. The influential group debuted in 1996 with a slew of 7"s. The Woodson EP & their debut full-length, Four Minute Mile were released in 1997. The well-received albums started a growing buzz around the indie rock scene, causing the band to field offers from major labels, which they ultimately turned down. After nearly a decade of touring & a multitude of releases, the band members parted ways to pursue other projects. The Get Up Kids contributions to the emo scene are apparent with artists from Fallout Boy to HelloGoodBye citing them as influences.
