Quest of the Dragons' Guardian

Even Dragons have a need for Guardians, and on their home world of Drago, this role has always been fulfilled by the rare but powerful Dragonars, legendary beings of great power who can command the Four Elements and shape-shift at will. However, being powerful is no proof against loneliness and Flame, a centuries old Dragonar, is the last of her kind. Though she had been destined and trained from birth to become the Keeper of the Sacred Flame of Drago, she finds that she needs a consort to share the duties and responsibilities that come with also being the last Guardian Protector of all who dwell within Drago’s lands. (Not to mention producing the next generation of Dragonars). Unfortunately, her only hope for finding a Mate means that she has to leave the safety of the land of her birth and head into the Dangerous Worlds in search of a male Dragous, a human who can communicate and bond with Dragons. Locating one will be hard enough. Convincing him to give up everything he knows in order to return with her to Drago for a Trial by Dragon-Fire, which if he survives, will bind his soul to hers for an eternity, may be down right impossible. However, she knows that she still has to try.
Theron the Restless is a jaded Warrior Wizard of dubious birth, who is seemingly cursed with a restless spirit. As a result of his inexplicable inability to settle down in one spot, he spends much of his free time running errands for the High Council of Magus. Having traveled much of the length and breath of the Known Worlds, he had thought that he had seen just about all there was to see of life and of Magic, until a routine mission turns deadly, and he finds himself rescued by a woman of unparalleled power from a land and a people thought only to be a myth. Before he realizes it, his normally very orderly world is turned upside-down and he is side-tracked into a quest of a different sort altogether, as he and Flame join forces to restore a stolen Dragon Egg to its parents before it hatches. As they race against time, he finds himself in danger of not just losing his life, but his very heart and soul to his partner in this new adventure that will span many worlds. Even as the clock ticks down to when they each must return to their separate homelands, he begins to realize that the woman he is with might just be the one special being possessing the amazing ability to calm his restless spirit and make him think for the first time of the future in conjunction with a permanent home.
