Prince PMC-5642 Double-Acting Welded Hydraulic Cylinder, Crosstube Mounting, Chrome Finish, Cast Iron, 4" Bore, 42" Stroke, 2" Rod Diameter, 1/2" Thread, 1/2" NPTF Port
This Prince Royal welded hydraulic cylinder is an actuator for converting hydraulic power into mechanical motion. It is a double-acting cylinder with two National Pipe Taper Female (NPTF) hydraulic ports for both extension and retraction of the rod. It has crosstube end fittings with grease zerks for mounting. It has a welded construction for large loads. The piston and gland are made of ductile iron for strength and durability, with a chromed, ground, and polished piston rod for resistance to wear. The u-cup seal and wiper ring in the gland are made of urethane for resistance to contaminants. This welded hydraulic cylinder has a maximum operating pressure of 2,500 pounds per square inch (psi).
Linear motion actuators are independent units that, when combined with a switch and power source, push or pull loads in a straight line. Actuator types (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, piezoelectric, electro-mechanical, and telescoping) vary and their application is determined by the power source available, as well as the load and space requirements. Linear motion actuators are used in a variety of applications, such as computer disk drives, deck and implement lifts for tractors, wheelchair lifts on a vehicle, and flow control mechanisms, such as flood gates on a dam.
Prince Manufacturing builds hydraulic cylinders, valves, and pumps. The company, founded in 1941, is headquartered in North Sioux City, SD.
