Pittman Ametek Gm9232e755-r1 127.7:1 Ratio 24 Vdc. Gearhead Motor New Rare

The GM stands for gearhead motor. The gear head is a G51A spur gearbox. The motor maker is Pittman. I measured output shaft at 27 RPM at 12 V and 56 RPM at 24 V There are 3 possibilities of the gears used: standard (max load = 175 oz-in), high-torque (max load = 300 oz-in), wide gear (max load = 500 oz-in). Using the documentation, you could open the gearbox and determine which one is on the motor, however I am betting it is the standard gears. The documentation lists a 127.8:1, instead of 127.7:1 listed on the motor. The motor type is type DC040B (9232) brush DC motor. The one on the motor is an E35A series incremental optical encoder. This encoder series has 4 wires Ch A, Ch B, V5, and GND. The encoder on the motor has one wire in pin 8 instead of the pin 7 as indicated in the encoder documentation. Pin 8 is supposed to be Ch B-, but the color code used on the wires would suggest Ch B (i.e., documentations says pin 7). This series of encoders comes in the following resolutions: 192, 200, 250, 256, 360, 400, 500, 512. BTW, the wire on pin 8 (purple wire) does appear to be Ch B (90 deg out of phase of Ch A). It should also be noted that the Ch A and Ch B outputs are 0 and 5 V levels. If the encoder outputs are open collector, pull up resistors are already inside the encoder.
