Pitsco Zoon Hot-Air Balloon Kit (Individual Pack)
The Pitsco Zoon Hot-Air Balloon Kit provides students in grades 6-12 a hands-on activity to build a model hot-air balloon that demonstrates the scientific concepts of temperature, density, and buoyancy, and includes balloon tissue paper and a pattern for building a model hot-air balloon. The kit includes instructions, balloon tissue paper in assorted colors, a glue stick, paper clips (10-pack and 30-pack only), and a balloon gore pattern. The 20 x 30-inch balloon tissue paper is thicker than regular tissue paper for constructing balloons, kites, and parachutes. The balloon gore pattern helps students design and cut out balloon parts, which they glue together to form a balloon. The Zoon Hot-Air Balloon Kit reinforces science, engineering, technology, and math concepts as students build and experiment with model hot-air balloons. The finished balloon measures approximately 2 feet in diameter. A hot-air balloon kit is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate temperature, density, and buoyancy.
Construction requires scissors and tape (both sold separately). Launching hot-air balloons requires the launching equipment such as the Pitsco Inflation Station hot-air balloon launcher (sold separately).
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
