Pitsco Fold-N-Roll - Getting Started Package (For 32 Students)
The Pitsco 33517 Fold-N-Roll Getting Started Package includes two Fold-N-Roll Racer Kits, two Fold & Race test ramps, and the Dr. Zoon Fold-N-Roll Video DVD to provide students in grades 3-12 a hands-on activity to build a model race car from a template that demonstrates the scientific concepts of motion, drag, and friction. Each Pitsco 54546 Fold-N-Roll Racer Kit includes plastic front and rear wheels, wooden axles, straws to use as axles, instructions, and 16 different colorful cardstock templates that students can cut out and fold into shape for three-dimensional racers. The Fold & Race test ramp is made of folding cardboard that is supported by a wooden dowel, and it is designed for testing racers and other rolling models. The 59781 Dr. Zoon Fold-N-Roll Video DVD demonstrates how to build the Fold-N-Roll Racer and introduces basic transportation concepts and the scientific concepts of friction, rolling friction, and potential and kinetic energy. The NTSC-format video is 20 minutes long and closed-captioned for the hearing impaired. The Fold-N-Roll Racer Getting Started Package reinforces engineering, technology, and math concepts as students build, test, and experiment with different styles of model race cars. A model racer kit is typically used in an educational setting to demonstrate engineering, aerodynamics, and physics.
Construction requires scissors, hobby knife, and tape (all sold separately). Optional custom wheels are sold separately.
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
Pitsco Education develops K-12 science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum, educational kits, and classroom tools. The company, founded in 1971, is headquartered in Pittsburg, KS.
