Perfume Making On The Cheap: Make Designer Knock-Offs At Home!
Important Note!
This is not what you might expect from a perfume making book. I do show you how to make perfume... by CHEATING! It's a huge, awesome hack that lets you try tons of perfumes on the cheap. It's aimed at people who don't think they have a crafty bone in their body -- if you make lotions, soap, or other bath and body products, you're too advanced for this perfume making book.
I cover the process in detail, complete with screenshots of suppliers and step-by-step photos. It takes just 3 minutes once you have all the stuff, and you can do it in a tiny bathroom or dorm room. It's SO easy. College students, kids, and even an entire Girl Scout Troupe have done it!
If you want to learn PERFUMERY for real -- that is, to make your own blends and perfume recipes with raw ingredients, this is
not the book for you. It does not contain any perfume recipes, perfume theory, essential oil blending information, or anything related to creating original perfumes.
You'll be better off with a textbook. If you want to get started in formulation, I *highly* recommend "Perfumes of Yesteryear." It's excellent and easy enough for an avid beginner to learn from.
What you'll learn:
* Where to buy all the materials you€ll need, complete with screenshots of suppliers.
* A buying guide, so that you can get a good idea of how much to order for your first time. Not too much, not too little.
* How much to expect to spend (it€s not expensive, don€t worry.)
* Mixing your perfume with step-by-step photos.
* How to make both alcohol and oil-based versions of designer fragrances.
What you won't learn:
* The art of original perfumery €" that is complicated, time-consuming, and expensive! Look for a perfumery textbook instead, or a full class.
* Aromatherapy. I know nothing about this at all, just that essential oils sometimes smell nice.
* How to sell your designer imitation perfumes, which is another subject entirely.
* A lot of perfume theory and lingo €" you don€t need it for this project!
* How to make soap, laundry detergent, or candles. Again, beyond the scope of the book.
Since 2004, I€ve taught hundreds of people this awesome hobby. I€ve rewritten the best of my information in this revised version for Kindle. This is a fun, easy hobby, and it results in great fragrances for you to enjoy right from the very start.
