The power supply in this kit should only be used on the 18" HotShot blankets. This is a wire wound transformer that is really tough. Electronic 'switching' transformers are subject to damaging line voltage surges that a wire wound transformer simply ignores. Installers should note that this is a SAFE, low-voltage output device. Competitive products to the HotShot dish heater often use HIGH VOLTAGE to power their heaters. Perfect 10 has never recommended the use of high voltage 120vAC dish heaters. Injury can easily result if high voltage devices used outside are not installed with GFI connections at the antenna as well as other major safety efforts. You are liable for your installations! Be safe, use low voltage HotShot heaters and power supplies. One hundred feet (100') of stranded 18AWG two conductor is included in the kit box.
