Paul Leonard Newman (January 26, 1925 - September 26, 2008) was an American actor, film director, professional racing driver, auto racing team owner and racing enthusiast. He won an Academy Award for best actor for his performance in the 1986 Martin Scorsese film The Color of Money.
Newman's obsession with race cars was sparked while filming the movie Winning in 1968, in which he played the role of an Indy Car driver.
In real life his passion for racing culminated in him winning several national championships as a driver in Sports Car Club of America road racing, and his race teams won several championships in open wheel IndyCar racing.
Newman accomplished the greatest feat of his racing career when finishing second in the 1979 24 hours Le Mans race.
He also founded Newman's Own food company and Newman's Own Foundation, which has donated more than $300m to charity since its inception

The small size blue and white jacket is embroidered with Paul Newman's name and features several sponsors patches including Datsun, Budweiser, Canon, Pioneer and Kendall.
The jacket was originally purchased at a celebrity auction in Oxnard, California in 1982 and is accompanied by two colour copies of photographs showing Newman wearing the racing jacket in front of a large crowd at an IMSA race at Laguna Seca Raceway in May 1981.
The item is in very fine condition.
